For the operator, the switchover is uninterrupted and without any delay in image transmission. The scalability of KVM solutions allows the infrastructure to be expanded at any time without affecting reliability. New consoles or devices can be seamlessly integrated and benefit from the same failover features.

In addition, further access control mechanisms can be deployed for KVM solutions. For example, access to IT systems in the control room can be restricted by determining different rights during configuration. 2-factor authentication (2FA) as an optional feature for network-enabled KVM systems also ensures that only authorized users have access to the system.
