New redundancy feature for maximum availability in critical control room applications

When it comes to security issues in control rooms, system availability is a crucial factor. Especially highly sensitive, mission-critical areas require maximum reliability of all technical components. A key aspect is the implementation of security concepts to maximize availability and cybersecurity. Why KVM plays such an important role in all of this, can be read here.

High-performance and secure IT installations

The security risks in a KVM based on IP are significantly higher compared to a classical KVM installation. That is the reason for having developed various security mechanisms. All communication and data transmission takes place in encrypted form, guaranteeing a high level of security in critical environments.

Security of overall installations

We are already offering a wide range of solutions for implementing redundancies. New to the portfolio is an additional feature for securing an overall installation in KVM-over-IP environments: the DirectRedundancyShield.

Here is how it works: During implementation, we set up another redundant matrix system next to the matrix central module. The DirectRedundancyShield ensures uninterrupted work and eliminates the need for the user to wait for a connection to the backup system to be established in the event of a malfunction. It achieves this by permanently establishing encrypted connections between the KVM-over-IP end devices and both central modules.

Continuous access through seamless switching

The DirectRedundancyShield ensures that the redundant system takes over immediately if the first system should break down or not be accessible. The user will not experience any interruptions or delays in image transmission when the system switches to the redundant central module. In this way, the system permanently monitors, controls, and manages all processes, allowing employees to work reliably and safely in control room environments.

The feature is compatible with all G&D products that use KVM over IP for transmission, and can also be subsequently activated in the matrix without the need to purchase additional hardware.
