KVM solutions for modern ANSPs at Airspace World 2025

G&D presents powerful concepts for flexible and fail-safe IT access in ATC control rooms at Airspace World in Lisbon, Portugal.

At Airspace World in Lisbon from May 13 to 15, 2025, we will be showcasing our extensive portfolio of KVM solutions for ANSPs at booth H2 1140, and we will be advising customers and partners on individual projects with our in-depth KVM expertise.

G&D KVM solutions are an indispensable part of the IT infrastructure of air traffic control applications – from tower systems to air traffic control centers. They enable flexible IT access, high redundancy and reliability as well as improved cybersecurity. Latency-free transmission of computer signals in the highest video quality enables remote control of computers, ensuring real-time access from the control room, air traffic control center or remote tower. In critical areas such as airspace surveillance, G&D’s KVM systems optimize the IT infrastructure and create ideal working conditions for air traffic controllers and technicians. The systems also support the spatial separation of teams, enable multi-shift models, and enhance collaboration despite physical distance. In Lisbon, we will be showcasing the most extensive KVM portfolio on the market, which is fully compatible and combinable.

From multi-monitor operator station to adaptable solution

We are driving the trend towards multi-viewing consoles in ATC control rooms, and will therefore be presenting the PersonalWorkplace-Controller at Airspace World, which optimally supports controllers in their work. Previously requiring a separate monitor for each process, the PersonalWorkplace-Controller now allows multiple video signals to be displayed on just one large monitor or several displays. This allows ATCOs to customize their workspace individually. Thanks to the adaptable arrangement, which can be saved as a layout and accessed at any time, G&D enables an optimal and flexible controller working position – specifically developed for the requirements of air traffic control.

PersonalWorkplace-Controller Gen 5

In addition to a clear display on a single monitor, controllers have integrated and flexible access to all necessary data at the same time, allowing them to keep track of their processes. The real-time display of multiple computer sources on a large monitor, along with latency-free operation of multiple computers via a single console, simplifies work in the tower, digital tower, or ATC control room. The high image quality and unlimited flexibility in arranging sources provide significant added value. Larger screens enable the ergonomic setup of active work and monitoring areas.

Digital tower with systems from G&D

Digitalization is also revolutionizing the tower. We offer innovative solutions for these critical applications. For computers processing real-time surveillance images, redundancy systems can be implemented using a switch. In the event of a failure, the system seamlessly switches to the backup without disrupting the work of air traffic controllers.
Video monitors are a central element in nearly all variations of the digital tower and play a key role for air traffic controllers.

In remote towers, where there is no direct view outside, a reliable display of the external environment is mission-critical. To address this, we offer an effective solution with the PersonalWorkplace-Controller. This device functions as a video wall manager, capable of displaying up to 27 physical video inputs on one or multiple monitors. This ensures the essential panoramic view across the video wall.

Solutions specifically for Air Traffic Control

At Airspace World, G&D and VuWall are combining their expertise to provide innovative visualization solutions. The companies are now operating under one umbrella and bringing together their know-how. These integrated systems impressively demonstrate how air traffic management organizations can work efficiently in a state-of-the-art, digitalized workspace. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience firsthand how the combination of advanced KVM technology and powerful visualization tools optimizes air traffic control workflows, enhancing both safety and efficiency in air traffic management.
