G&D to present innovative systems and features for modern control rooms at PMRExpo in Cologne.
KVM manufacturers Guntermann & Drunck will be presenting their extensive portfolio of KVM solutions for control rooms at PMRExpo in Cologne, 22 – 24 November 2022, at booth A27, where they will also provide in-depth KVM expertise to individual projects of customers and partners.
Digitized processes must be monitored and controlled. Here, KVM solutions form the basis for a flexible workplace and also enable a secure IT infrastructure. They help to operate computers remotely across systems without requiring additional software.
Smart features for optimized workflows in control rooms
Innovative operating features not only facilitate the use of KVM systems, but also allow intuitive operation of the entire system landscape. For over 35 years, the control room experts have been developing smart applications for more convenience and even better team collaboration. The control room feature CrossDisplay-Switching, for example, lets users operate different computers with only one keyboard and one mouse. The function allows users to switch between channels simply by moving the mouse. While the mouse pointer is used to switch from one computer screen to another, both the keyboard and the mouse automatically switch to the respective computer. This allows users to better focus on their work without having to worry about the complex infrastructure.
In order to optimize the collaboration in control rooms, operators are supported by the push-get function. The feature lets them move screen contents of a target to – or get it from – the display of another console. As a result, control room staff can work better together when it comes to solving issues.
Personalworkplace-Controller – uniting flexibility and usability
Another highlight of the exhibition will be the new Personalworkplace-Controller – a tool to unite the best of multiviewing and KVM. Using a separate monitor for each process is now a thing of the past. The PersonalWorkplace-Controller makes it possible to easily display, arrange and operate multiple video signals on just one large monitor or multiple displays. This gives users the option of individually configuring their workspaces with different computer sources. These modified arrangements significantly optimize ergonomics at the workstations, too.
In addition to getting a clearly arranged overview of all processes on just one monitor, users also have simultaneous integrated and flexible access to all the data they need. Displaying multiple computer sources in real time on one large monitor, and thus providing latency-free operation of multiple computers from a single console facilitates work processes immensely. On top of this, the high image quality and unlimited flexibility in arranging sources provide great added value. Thus, active work areas and monitoring areas can be ergonomically set up on larger screens.
