This year, we\u2019re celebrating 40 years of G&D<\/a> \u2013 a period marked by many milestones and events. But what makes these 40 years truly special? As part of our anniversary celebrations, we want to share the company\u2019s story through the eyes of those who\u2019ve helped shape it in various roles. In our blog series, we\u2019ll provide four unique and personal perspectives on this journey.<\/p>\n

Part 2 \u2013 On Track for Tomorrow<\/h2>\n

What began as a pioneering idea <\/a>in 1985 is now an established company with an international outlook. On the occasion of our 40th anniversary, we look back \u2013 but also forward. In the second part of our blog series, we speak with our CEO Thorsten Lipp to reflect on 40 years of G&D, discuss what drives the company\u2019s success, and look ahead to the future.<\/p>\n

40 years of G&D \u2013 What does this anniversary mean to you?<\/h3>\n

The 40th anniversary of G&D is a special milestone. It fills me with respect for everything that generations of employees have built together. I\u2019m proud to be part of this story today and to have the opportunity to guide G&D into its next phase of development.<\/p>\n

In your view, how has G&D managed to stay successful for so many years? What strengths or qualities set G&D apart and contribute to its success?<\/h3>\n

G&D embodies a culture of continuity and reliability \u2013 combined with the courage to continuously evolve. We listen to our customers, think deeply in technical terms, and act with foresight. What especially distinguishes G&D is the strong team spirit and shared commitment to quality \u2013 you can feel it every day.<\/p>\n

What motivated you to take on the role as CEO at G&D, and what surprised you most when you joined \u2013 positively or unexpectedly?<\/h3>\n

I was immediately drawn to the combination of technological excellence, international potential, and a family-oriented corporate culture. What impressed me most was the pride and strong identification the employees have with G&D. That attitude is just as crucial to success as any product.<\/p>\n

Which milestones or changes at G&D have particularly driven you? And were there any challenges along the way?<\/h3>\n

What motivated me most was G&D\u2019s strategic shift toward international markets, new technologies, and strong partnerships. Of course, there were challenges \u2013 as with any transformation. But it was precisely these phases that repeatedly demonstrated the company\u2019s energy and problem-solving capabilities.<\/p>\n

What is the \u201cspirit\u201d of G&D for you \u2013 the one you feel every day? Is there something in the team culture or the way people interact that continues to positively surprise you?<\/h3>\n

The spirit of G&D, to me, is clear: strong unity, reliability, and deep technical expertise. I witness daily how committed and solution-oriented the team is \u2013 often with a mix of precision, humor, and a genuine drive to move forward together. That continues to surprise and delight me again and again.<\/p>\n

Is there something you\u2019d particularly like to thank the employees and customers for on this anniversary, or something you\u2019d like to share with them going forward?<\/h3>\n

I want to sincerely thank all our employees \u2013 for their commitment, loyalty, and willingness to actively shape G&D. And also our customers, who have placed their trust in us for many years. My wish is that we continue this path together: with a passion for innovation, sound judgment, and a clear focus on what really matters.<\/p>\n

How do you see the future development of the company? What goals would you like to achieve in the coming years, and what are your hopes for G&D?<\/h3>\n

I see tremendous potential in G&D \u2013 both technologically and internationally. Our goal is to continue playing a leading role in the field of secure and high-performance IT infrastructures and to tap into new verticals. My hope for the future: that we remain open to new ideas, while staying true to our values. Because it\u2019s this balance that defines us \u2013 and will continue to be our strength going forward.<\/p>\n
