Shortly after having started her apprenticeship as a media designer, we asked our apprentice Sarah Fichtner: \u201cCould you please join our team for Hannover Messe?\u201d A challenge Sarah was keen on facing. In today’s blog post, Sarah talks about the experiences she made at her first trade fair.<\/p>\n

The right preparation<\/h2>\n

Participating in a trade fair requires much preparation. Therefore, there were still a lot of things to do even one week before Hannover Messe<\/a>. We had to pack everything we would need at the stand, shop for groceries and I had to decide what to wear. After everything was packed, it was time to get to Hannover.<\/p>\n

After reaching the exhibition ground, we still had a lot to do since we couldn’t prepare everything at G&D’s headquarter in Wilnsdorf, Germany. So after finally finishing all the preparation for the next day, I was glad to get back to the hotel. Here, I took some time to relax and was really excited about the next day.<\/p>\n

After a delicious breakfast it was time to get to the exhibition centre. When I arrived at the trade fair I suddenly realized: “It’s time to get serious.” I was amazed by the number of people and exhibitioners who filled the halls even in the early morning hours.<\/p>\n

When we finally arrived at our stand, my first task, of course, was to make some coffee. To ensure that visitors as well as our team had a great time, I offered them fresh drinks and snacks. But I was also there to clean the stand and to make sure there were enough catalogues and other brochures avaiable for our visitors. On top of these tasks, I scanned and mailed trade fair contacts.<\/p>\n

Even though there was much for me to do at our stand, I had the opportunity to walk around the halls of Hannover Messe and was quite impressed by the size of some stands. Visitors had much to see. Therefore, it came as no surprise that even Chancellor Angela Merkel made a quick stop at the trade fair.<\/p>\n

Valuable experiences<\/h2>\n

Especially interesting for me: Hannover Messe even had a small hall for current and future apprentices. Here, visitors could show their talents by shooting balls at soccer goals and other fun stuff.<\/p>\n

During a walk across the fair I really liked a hopping robotic kangaroo called BionicKangaroo. Every hour, the kangaroo entertained visitors in a very unique way.<\/p>\n
